To our customer Biovica - committed to developing and commercializing novel blood-based biomarker assays - we are looking for a driven and commercially minded CFO with leadership skills and an understanding of the specific environment and demands of a listed company. You are based in Sweden and fluent in the language.
Biovica is a Swedish biotech company founded in 2009 with headquarters in Uppsala, with a vision to improve monitoring and predicting the efficacy of cancer therapies. The company´s initial focus is breast cancer, a disease responsible for over 685,000 deaths a year. Biovica works with leading cancer institutes, collaborative groups, and pharmaceutical companies on product development with the aim of improving outcomes and lowering costs.

THE ROLE
Biovica are looking for a person with leadership skills. The CFO will be a member of the management team reporting to the CEO. The role will be responsible for ensuring diligence and structure for financial management and reporting including being one of the professional guardians of shareholder value. As a growing, entrepreneurial and global company, Biovica needs a CFO who can handle a multitude of strategic as well as tactical issues. The person needs to combine a solid financial understanding with a strong ability to execute with passion and integrity. Earlier experience from listed companies in some way is highly preferable, experience from small development companies in a global market is an advantage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead and develop the finance and accounting function, including processes, systems, and team.
· Act as a key member of the Management Team, supporting company growth and strategic initiatives.
· Support the CEO in driving operational excellence, follow-up, and strategic direction.
External reporting and annual accounts
· Ensure timely external reporting in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
· Manage audits and relationships with external auditors.
· Responsible for financial consolidation and annual accounts.
· Support the CEO in stock market and investor-related matters.
· Ensure compliance with MAR regulations.
Proactive internal reporting and forecasting
· Optimize cash management and liquidity planning.
· Provide proactive financial reporting and analysis to board, management, and shareholders.
Business Management
· Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business analysis
· Support investor relations, and capital raising activities.
· Develop business cases and financial decision support.
· Manage financial risk, capital optimization, and balance sheet efficiency.
COMPETENCE REQUIREMENT AND ABILITIES
You are analytical and structured, informal yet diligent and understand the purpose of the numbers rather than just the numbers themselves. You are pragmatic and fast with a hands-on approach. It is important to have leadership skills, and to be ambitious with a personal drive to take responsibility and work independently.
· Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent. MBA is a plus.
· Experience from a listed company with proven success driving strong and successful financial and business management and controls. Alternatively experience from other valid financial management responsibilities from a listed company with leadership talent.
· Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
· Experience from working in a small developing company in a global market is an advantage.
· Experience from commercial agreements and negotiations in a global environment is an advantage.
· Experience of Management presentations.
· Fluency in Swedish and English.
