Interim Senior Financial Controller
Are you a driven finance professional who enjoys combining hands-on accounting with strategic financial control?
We are recruiting a structured and analytical interim Senior Financial Controller for one of our clients — an international pharmaceutical company — to take ownership of financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement. The position offers broad exposure and close collaboration with both local management and international finance functions.
Period: 12 months, full-time.

Position overview
The Interim Financial Controller will play a central role in managing accounting operations and ensuring compliance with Swedish statutory requirements and US GAAP. The role includes responsibility for payroll coordination, financial planning support, and participation in global finance initiatives. Acting as a trusted advisor to management, the position also serves as deputy to the Head of Accounting & Controlling.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage payroll accounting in collaboration with external providers and HR.
· Oversee tax payments, VAT reporting, and ensure audit readiness.
· Ensure accuracy of general ledger entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
· Coordinate intercompany transactions and banking activities for local entities.
· Support corporate reporting and financial compliance efforts.
· Collaborate with auditors, tax consultants, and shared service centers.
· Lead process improvements and contribute to local and global finance projects.
· Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies in line with Swedish GAAP and US GAA.
· University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification such as CPA or equivalent is considered a plus.
· At least five years of relevant experience within accounting, financial control, or audit.
· Strong command of both English and Swedish, written and spoken.
· Thorough understanding of Swedish financial legislation, reporting standards, and US GAAP principles.
· Proven ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and deliver with accuracy and attention to detail.
· Analytical, trustworthy, and structured professional approach.
· Experienced in major ERP systems (preferably SAP FI/CO) and advanced Excel, with strong capability to manage and analyse complex financial data.
· Skilled communicator who builds effective relationships and collaborates across functions.
